My research and teaching interests are principally in contemporary drama, ancient Greek drama, and adaptation studies. I tend to think of myself as a generalist because I write about literature from all over the world, across genres, and using a wide range of critical theories. While I am a specialist in adaptation studies, my tastes in reading, scholarship, and teaching are eclectic.

The image above is my professional photo, but here’s my kitty cat Frank yawning in my ear.
In this video from my partner’s YouTube series “Conversations with Writers,” I discuss my approach to scholarship and what I see as the purpose of scholarship and the arts.
